Long views, tall vistas, narrow canyons, and even a nail biting drive: outdoor adventure road trips in the US would not be complete without a visit to these places.

Magnificent Moab, Arches & Canyonlands National Parks, & Mountain Biking Heaven. Moab, Utah, is well-known as a desert mecca of mountain biking. While you’re in the area, you also need to visit nearby Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park! Desert, red-rock beauty in all its stunning glory make for unique and memorable family road trips and camping destinations.

Visiting Bryce Canyon & Zion National Parks and Kanab, Utah’s Movie History makes for a family road trip that’s unique and exciting! Hiking and camping in this terrain is otherworldly. Plus, the whole family will find something to love about the out-of-Hollywood movie-making history that’s sprinkled around this destination.

Great Basin National Park: Wild, Beautiful, and FREE. We were completely blown away by this national park. If you want to go somewhere that exists in the Lower 48 States to feel like you’ve stepped away from the modern world, this is the place. Alpine mountains, high desert floors, and some of the oldest trees in the world… next time, we will spent a LOT longer at this remote, stunning, wild destination.

The Loneliest Highway in America Across Nevada’s Great Basin - Don’t Miss This! While reading descriptions of this drive, it’s easy to think it’s a stretch of desolate road to avoid - but don’t. Please do yourself the favor of taking time across this high desert, remote, beautiful slice of high desert that’s unlike any place else we’ve driven.

Northern California Redwood Forests, Crescent City, Redding, and Beyond! Sometimes, plans don’t always work out. When that happens, adaptability may just lead you to even better destinations. After our RV reservation fell through, we discovered an even better campground, savory fish hut, and the hushed silence of the Red Woods. Join us!

The Amazing Oregon Coast and Mountain Biking the McKenzie River. This is a place that quickly became near and dear to our hearts. Wild huckleberries and blackberries, crashing waves, and some of the most fun mountain biking we’ve taken our tires to. Talk about a diverse environment to enjoy!

Eugene, Oregon, and Beyond: Exploring Trails, Lakes and Waterfalls. Do you enjoy hiking through a wonderland? Then this destination is the place for you. There are as many family-friendly trails as there are epic stretches - it all depends on what you wish to find. Magnificent waterfalls to photograph, lakes to kayak or paddle, and vistas to enjoy sunsets from seem endless in this beautiful, friendly land.

Around the Bend: Driving from Boise, Idaho to Vida, Oregon. Talk about a stretch of road that changes dramatically! Boise, ID, is a family-friendly town full of food, fun, trails, and history. Driving west takes family adventurers through high desert, rolling foothills, past another mountain biking oasis (Bend), and pine-covered mountains until we land at our destination: Vida, Oregon. There’s a lot to see and we want to share the miles!

Boise, Idaho, Bound! An Outdoor Family Playground. There’s a reason Boise, ID, continually makes those “best places” lists. Inside and out, the city embraces the outdoors, adventure, hiking, biking, trails, arts, food, family, and so much more. Come explore with us!

Rock Springs, Wyoming: Mountains on the Horizon. After a wild ride across the upper Midwest, we’re happy to find a warm and inviting place to land for a night in Rock Springs. A historic town with a great brewery, tasty pizza, and comfortable camping, it’s also a jumping-off point to some of the wild natural lands that Wyoming offers.

Hunkered in Nebraska: Riding Out the Storm. Sometimes there are influences that are completely out of our control… like weather. We make the decision to ride out this nasty little storm front while hunkered with other campers and truckers at Walmart. There are some odd moments, some learning curves, but a smooth night before continuing west.

The RV Adventure Begins! Look out world - we’re heading out. Travel trailer in tow, dogs, cat, kid, stuff, and rocking chair strapped to the roof, we’re heading west to visit family and see what adventures we can explore along the way. Coming along!
